We know entrepreneurship comes with its own unique rewards &
challenges alike. Is there anything you did to overcome any challenges you faced? Are there any people you would like to recognize who have helped along the way?
A few challenges I faced as a small business owner is learning time management and organizational skills. As a full-time high school student, volleyball player, and creator I am learning to manage my time between being successful in the classroom, on the court, and making and promoting my products.
I would like to recognize and thank my mom, Kristen Heard, for helping me to develop time management and organizational skills and has helped me to expand my business to provide more products. I am extremely grateful for her love, support, dedication, and help with everything she has taught me.
My grandmother, Lizzie Heard, for helping me find my creative path by teaching me to sew very early in life. She has encouraged me to express myself creatively and I’m thankful for her help and support with packaging and decorating for my business.
I would also like to thank my little brother, Damian Henderson II for helping by drawing the logo for my original design. He is a very good artist and has helped me to create a unique design for my brand.
Networking is everything in Memphis. What are a few black-owned businesses in Memphis that you patronize? Dria Stylez, Big Baby’s Kitchen, LiDazzle, Jadores Collection, Kayberries
