W.A.K.E. Up Memphis sat down with Aaliyah Causey, proud Owner of LiDazzle Businesswear & Accessories to discuss all things fashion. Aaliyah is taking the fashion industry by storm. We asked Aaliyah about her business. Here’s what she had to say.
Tell us about your business and what makes your business unique in Memphis.
LiDazzle is a boutique that specializes in businesswear and accessories. We have the items you need that will take your wardrobe to the next level! Our CEO is also a wardrobe stylist.
LiDazzle offers custom items that allow businesses to promote their products/services through shirts, cups, masks, and more. We also specialize in business attire for women. Through our research, we’ve found that many women have difficulty finding outfits that are cute, covered, and professional when it’s time to dress for business affairs. Therefore, our goal is to solve that issue for as many women as we can.
Does your business have any upcoming events that you want potential customers to be on the lookout for? LiDazzle is intentional about hosting events that present opportunities for other businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the midsouth. Our event for the first quarter of 2023 is The NXT Level Fashion show which will be held Feb 4th in Downtown Memphis. Grab those tickets at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-nxt-level-fashion-show-tickets-481912341787 Come on out and enjoy a top-notch experience.
We know being a business owner comes with its own unique rewards and challenges alike. Is there anything you did to overcome any challenges you faced with your business? Are there any people you would like to recognize who have helped along the way? Yes, being in business does come with many challenges. One that comes to mind is that I started rather young, at the age of 16 to be exact. It’s often difficult for others to believe in your brand or take you serious when you’re young and new to the boutique/fashion industry which can be quite frustrating. Therefore, I had to work even harder and remain consistent with my content, professionalism with the clients that I did gain and believe in myself to succeed because God gave me the vision so if someone had an issue with my age then it was there problem not mine. Yes, I thank my parents, Reginald and Kena Price for always loving me and pushing me to be the best version of myself. It means the world to me to have their support in the things that I do. I also want to thank my Pastors Devin & Samantha Westbrook for their continuous support of my business and events. I am also forever grateful to my clients, family, friends and followers for attending events, shopping or simply sharing my content. I could not continue to grow without any of them.
Networking is everything in Memphis. What are a few black-owned businesses in Memphis that you patronize? I believe networking is so important. I love patronizing black owned businesses and still have more to add to the list. Some of those that I currently patronize include (but not limited to) Kassh Kollection, K Styles Shoetique, Makeup by Kay, J’adores Collection, The Greatness Gang, Ava’s Beauty Creation, The Total Concept, Mr. Southern Grub.
